The UN science-based climate emergency requires a 50% cut in current carbon emissions by 2030 to contain global warming within 1.5 degrees and so avert an irreversible catastrophe for life on earth. Coventry, as other cities, recognises the dual challenges of urgently addressing local atmospheric pollution and global warming from using fossil fuels. The solutions would be to produce clean energy locally and combine this with an emphasis on energy and other resource efficiency.

This event will share details of the exciting progress that is being made and also demonstrate how individuals and organisations can take action to accelerate the move to a low carbon 2030.
