Environmental Policy Forum

The Environmental Policy Forum (EPF) is a network of UK-based environmental professional bodies promoting environmental sustainability and resilience for the public benefit - with SocEnv acting as Secretariat. Collectively we influence UK environmental policy through a range of methods, including producing reports, holding webinars, conducting research, writing letters to Ministers, responding to Government consultations and submitting evidence to Select Committee inquiries.

Our priorities

Together, we have delivered cross-sector consensus on the ten environmental priorities which policymakers must urgently address. These priorities are based on the challenges experienced by practitioners working across disciplines, and the numerous opportunities that exist to address these barriers and achieve economic growth. Each priority contains specific asks for policymakers, which should be achieved through support from business.

Our latest communication with Government

In November 2025, the EPF wrote to the recently appointed Environment and Housing Ministers, Emma Reynolds MP and Steve Reed MP, re: unlocking the economic potential of the green transition.

SocEnv coordinated the development of this letter, as well as being one of 14 organisations signing up in support.

Our latest consultation response

In April 2025, SocEnv led a response to the Land use consultation on behalf of the EPF, in which we express our support for the introduction of a Land Use Framework and a more holistic approach to land use.

Our latest event

Members of the Environmental Policy Forum (EPF), including SocEnv, were delighted to recently meet with Lauren Edwards MP, Co-Chair of the Skills APPG. Taking place within Net Zero Week in Parliament 2025 alongside a range of other events, our event focused on the crucial, underpinning role that green jobs and skills play on the roadmap to net zero, whilst also boosting economic growth.
