Celebrating those going above & beyond
Nominations are now closed and the fantastic winners have been announced. Find out more, here.
Could you be recognised in 2022 for your outstanding environmental work? Or, do you know a deserving colleague who has recently gone above and beyond to protect or enhance the environment?
We are delighted to welcome nominations for the 2022 edition of the SocEnv Awards. Nominate an outstanding Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP) or Registered Environmental Technician (REnvTech) before the 22nd April 2022, for free.
Designed to recognise those outstanding individuals who have innovated, inspired, and have gone beyond what’s expected in their recent work to protect, preserve, or enhance the environment, there are two prestigious awards up for grabs:
- 2022 Environmental Professional of the Year
- 2022 Registrant Newcomer of the Year
The latter is specifically available to those who registered as a CEnv, REnvP or REnvTech for the first time since the start of 2021. Hitting the ground running as a newly registered environmental professional is something to be celebrated. We therefore want to commend those who have thrived as a registrant in a short space of time.
Submit a free nomination
Nominees for both awards must be registered as a CEnv, REnvP or REnvTech. However, nominations can be submitted by anyone, including self-nominations.
To nominate an outstanding environmental professional, please complete and submit a nomination form (downloadable below) to [email protected].
The nomination forms request details of the nominee’s (or your) commitment to professional practice, major achievements and how their recent work has made a real difference to protecting, preserving, or enhancing the environment and advancing the principles of sustainability. Nominees will be judged on the extent to which they have made a difference while demonstrating an outstanding record in the four main competences across each registration, as well as a fifth criteria that underlines exceptional outcomes:
- Application of knowledge
- Leadership
- Effective communication
- Personal commitment
- Exceptional outcomes.
Further details, including the full entry criteria and conditions can be found on each nomination form. Nominations for both awards will be accepted until 16:00 BST on the 29th of April 2022 (extended from the 22nd following requests to allow more time for those enjoying an Easter break to enter their nominations).
If you are unsure if your nominee meets the criteria, please do get in touch.

2021 Environmental Professional of the Year award winner
Dan Reading CEnv, Head of Sustainability at Right Formula. Reflecting on this achievement a year on, Dan said:
"I’ve always viewed the Environmental Professional of the Year Award as the highest accolade for an individual in our profession, so it was a huge honour to win it in 2021. In terms of career benefits, you certainly gain additional profile, but I find its greatest value is that it provides additional credibility when operating with clients and industries where assurance is paramount."
Following his award win, we caught up with Dan to have a chat about his achievements:
