In Summer/ Autumn 2020, Defra issued a consultation into the England Tree Strategy. SocEnv issued a response to the consultation and made a number of points, including our thoughts on how to:
- Encourage private investment in trees and woodland creation.
- Address the non-financial barriers to the creation of new woodland.
- Boost the role of the nation’s National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs) in increasing woodland cover.
