Sixteen years ago, a desire to be in a career that made a real-world difference led to Sandra switching from accountancy to sustainability. Initially Sandra wanted to enable change in business for the benefit of biodiversity and geodiversity but now also looks to a future in which we celebrate social diversity of all kinds and uses her influence to help achieve this goal.
After running her own businesses and working with IEMA on a thought piece on the digital economy, Sandra realised the huge potential of using technology to analyse complex sustainability data for consistent communication and stronger engagement. She has brought this learning into her recent roles with a local authority and now currently as Future Growth Lead with Southern Water. Shaping development for the future we need is central to the role, fulfilling her original career goals!
For Sandra, credibility is just the beginning. Joining a vast network of genuine leaders, influencers, game changers and innovators makes Sandra proud to be a part of the solution to environmental problems, whatever that ends up being. Sandra continues to support others along the way through the networking provided by CEnv status, as part of her role with the Society for the Environment’s Board and through coaching her team.
Meanwhile Sandra herself is not one to rest on her laurels and is continuing to write, with books on coaching, developing a sustainability career and the current work in progress is on the theme of credibility!
