The prestigious annual Society for the Environment awards recognise the outstanding work of Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and Registered Environmental Technician (REnvTech) registrants. In 2020 the Society will once again present the Environmental Professional of the Year award to a highly deserving winner, but also include for the first time a new award - Registrant Newcomer of the Year.

The awards showcase the achievements of those striving to protect and enhance the environment on a daily basis and attracts a diverse range of outstanding nominations each year from across sectors and continents. Highly knowledgeable professionals are required to tackle the environmental challenges we face, provide fact-based leadership and to act as role models for aspiring environmental professionals and the wider public. For this reason, we want to champion those going above and beyond!

Candidates will be judged on the extent to which they have made a difference while demonstrating an outstanding record in the four main competences in the CEnv and REnvTech registrations, as well as a fifth criteria that underlines the exceptional outcomes of their work.

A New Award for 2020

Registrant Newcomer of the Year

A new award for 2020 that celebrates CEnv and REnvTech registrants who have showcased outstanding work within the short period in which they have been registered. Candidates must have registered as a CEnv or REnvTech since January 2019.

Hitting the ground running as a newly registered environmental professional is something to be celebrated. As such, the Society would like to commend those who have thrived as a registrant in a short space of time. Please note – this award is not only for those in the early stages of their careers. Professional registration can occur throughout a career and following career changes. Age or career length are not restrictions for this award!
