The Memcom Excellence Awards celebrate the outstanding innovation, creativity and impact happening across the membership, association, charity and NFP sectors.
We’re proud to share that our influential Soils and Stones project has been shortlisted for the Awards, in the ‘Best Collaborative Partnership’ category.
The project, founded in 2019, is an interdisciplinary, evidence-based project, bringing together experts and a range of organisations to share their knowledge, experience and solutions on safeguarding soils and soil related materials.
Although running since 2019, the project’s impact during the last eighteen months has been particularly strong, as we cemented our role as a leading influence on soil policy and published the wide-reaching Soil Management Hierarchies and SILOtoSOIL tool.
Our Soils and Stones project lead shares his delight at the news below.
Interdisciplinary collaboration is at the heart of all SocEnv activity, and I’ve been honoured to lead a shining example of this activity – the Soils and Stones project – for the last seven years. Through shared expertise, working in partnership results in a stronger collective voice with greater impact – from shaping good practice to helping to guide policymakers and regulators. Being shortlisted is tremendous recognition for the efforts of all our CEnv-led team, both present and past, and their willingness to share their knowledge as dedicated volunteers, working in collaboration with the project’s valued partners from agricultural, development and nature-based land-use sectors.
