SocEnv AGM elects new Board Members and Chair

SocEnv's 2026 AGM elects two new Board Members, a new Chair and two new Vice Chairs.

SocEnv’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on the 4th June 2026 in a hybrid format. Those elected will commence their roles with immediate effect, with huge gratitude to those who have now completed their committee terms.

Our voting Member Bodies came together both virtually and in-person at Arup, London. Official voting was completed for the following committee positions within our governance structures:

  • Chair of the Board
  • Two Vice Chairs of the Board
  • Two Board member positions
  • Two Registration Authority (RA) positions
  • Chief Licence Reviewer (also an RA member).

For only two Board vacancies, we received more candidate applications than ever before.

Following the results, incoming Chair of the Board, Martin Dyer CEnv, said:

I’m genuinely honoured to have been elected Chair of SocEnv. I would like to recognise the contribution of previous Chairs, Board members, and the Executive Team whose dedication and leadership have helped shape the organisation we see today. Their work has created a strong platform from which we can continue to grow and evolve.

Martin added:

“In an ever-changing world, the need for trusted environmental professionals has never been greater. Professional standards, competence and ethical leadership must remain at the heart of everything we do. As a Board and Society, we have a responsibility to turn our new strategy into meaningful action, strengthening influence, increasing recognition of environmental professionalism, and ensuring we continue to deliver for our licensed member bodies and their members.

I’m excited about the journey ahead and the opportunity to work with colleagues across our community to help shape a sustainable future, built on professionalism, collaboration and trust.”

Thank you

Our heartfelt thanks to all those who have now completed their terms on our Board and RA. Without their continuous energy, diligence, challenge, guidance, and ideas, the Society wouldn’t be where it is today.

With thanks to:

  • Dougal Driver CEnv – outgoing Chair of the Board
  • Prof. Ian Barker HonFSE CEnv – outgoing Vice Chair of the Board
  • Alastair Taylor HonFSE CEnv – outgoing Chief Licence Reviewer and RA member
  • Sophie Dunajko – outgoing RA member
  • Rod Wilkinson CEnv – outgoing RA member
  • Karl Jones CEnv – outgoing RA member.
