I look around at my peers and reflect on what they have achieved, and around 70 of them hold the CEnv registration. I did it to be able to compare myself to others, for my knowledge and professional experience to be scrutinised and for the overall sense of achievement.

Simon holds a number of qualifications, accreditations and memberships relevant to the trees, arboriculture and tree work which he combines with over 15 years’ experience of land-based industries. This includes practical tree work, consultancy, management and technical roles across commercial, local authority and charity sectors.
Simon’s work as a consultant is varied and ranges from tree risk management advise, the planning process, tree preservation and health, damage from trees, delivering training, assessing and advising business, and best of all – earning a living from looking at trees.
Simon is the first Arboricultural Association member to become a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) in three years. So, what inspired him to complete the application?
