CEnv Profile: Sandra Norval

CEnv Profile

Sandra Norval CEnv - IEMA

Founder and CEO

Bluedotaug Ltd

Correct as of August 2018.

“10 years ago I had an idea for a book and an agent said ‘you’d never get published, you have no credibility in the field’, so I set about building that.

My path to CEnv was through my IEMA full membership and I have since become a Fellow with them too.

I no longer feel that I lack credibility with the backing of two mighty organisations and I am still planning to write with the benefit of all the additional learning and professional experience along the way.”

Twelve years ago, a desire to be in a career that made a real-world difference led to Sandra Norval switching from accountancy to sustainability. Initially Sandra wanted to enable change in business for the benefit of biodiversity and geodiversity but now also looks to a future in which we celebrate social diversity of all kinds and uses her influence to help achieve this goal.

After meeting her business partner Sean Burton, Sandra realised the huge potential of using immersive technology to visualise complex sustainability data for consistent communication and stronger engagement. Together they founded Bluedotaug, an organisation that focuses on visualising sustainability data in immersive environments, using virtual, augmented and mixed reality.

For Sandra, credibility is just the beginning. Joining a vast network of genuine leaders, influencers, game changers and innovators makes Sandra proud to be a part of the solution to environmental problems, whatever that ends up being. Bluedotaug’s work is about the long game and for Sandra that means supporting others along the way through the networking provided by CEnv status.

Sandra's current priority is building Bluedotaug, implementing their long-term plan for new exciting projects. Bluedotaug's vision is ‘Change perception, change the world’ and they have built in-roads to doing just this very quickly. They are keen to engage with like-minded peers for future collaborative projects as well as our more straightforward products and services. Sandra herself is not one to rest on her laurels and is continuing to write, with more books coming in the future.
