Society for the Environment E-Newsletter
Issue #9 | Tuesday 6th November 2018
A warm welcome to the November edition of our e-newsletter - distinctly less spooky than many of last week's emails! Can you believe how fast the year is going…?

With our exit from the EU now imminent, the Society is focussed on ensuring that the UK’s environmental protections do not diminish, but are instead, enhanced. This month I'd like to highlight the work being done to make this a reality.

I am also pleased our next webinar series has launched (find out more below) and I have an update relating to our governance review.

Greening the Industrial Strategy Report to be Published in November

Today it was confirmed that the Society will be publishing a report this month detailing examples of the contribution of registered environmental professionals to the development of the Industrial Strategy.

The 'Greening the Industrial Strategy Report' will include insight into a series of case study projects co-ordinated by Chartered Environmentalists. The case studies showcase the vital work supporting the objectives of the Industrial Strategy. Such diverse work highlights the wide spread impact of the Industrial Strategy, as well as the breadth of expertise being put into practice by Chartered Environmentalists.

CEO, Dr Emma Wilcox, states; "The Industrial Strategy will only succeed if it effectively implements low carbon and resource efficient growth. To achieve this, the Society believes it is vital we have professionals competent to deliver."

The Report will be distributed to Ministers responsible for the Industrial Strategy at Defra and BEIS, as well as to the equivalent departments in the devolved administrations. We will also ensure a copy hits your inbox for your viewing.
