Chartered Environmentalist to speak at Energy Live News Expo 2019

The list of speakers for the Energy Live News Expo 2019 includes Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) Gareth Williams, Head of Sustainability at Virgin Trains West Coast. 

Alongside being a CEnv via the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), Gareth has an MSc in Environmental Engineering. Gareth has worked in the Transport Industry for almost 15 years dedicating his career to Environmental improvements. As the Head of Sustainability for Virgin Trains West Coast, Gareth is leading the company’s strategy on the Environment, Community, Charity and Inclusion.

Gareth has officially committed Virgin Trains to setting a challenging Science Based Target in the next two yeas to drive down carbon emissions, alongside the company’s ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certified Environmental Management System.

Gareth is directly involved in a number of Rail Industry groups including Carbon Management and has previously held the role of Joint Chair of the Rail Environment Forum.
