Registrations are now open for the 22nd International Farm Management Congress to be held in Launceston, Tasmania from 3-8 March 2019.

The Congress is expected to attract 300 delegates from more than 30 countries, providing a platform for thought-provoking conversations about the future of agriculture.

Organising Committee Chair, David Armstrong, said the Congress would focus on innovative ideas to sustainably grow agricultural output, helping to feed the world’s population and support rural economies.

“Delegates will hear from farm managers, consultants and academics from around the world, as they discuss the challenges and opportunities facing farm managers,” Mr Armstrong said.

“Farm managers, consultants, academics and advisers will have an opportunity to network with colleagues from around the world and gain an international perspective on agriculture.

“Tasmanian farmers and agricultural leaders are among the most innovative and resourceful in the world, and this Congress is a fantastic opportunity to share our success stories with the world.”

The Congress will include presentations from local experts and farm visits to agricultural regions around Tasmania, showcasing a variety of sectors from premium wine and cheese, to grazing industries and vegetable production.

The International Farm Management Association is a highly-respected international congress, open to anyone with interested in agriculture and rural activities. Congresses are held at different locations around the world every second year.

The Tasmanian Congress is supported by the Tasmanian Government and the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture.
