“Bridgescapes” Out Now! Book Launched by Bruce Keith CEnv
10 October 2017
We are pleased to announce that Bruce Keith CEnv, the immediate past president of CIWEM has now published his new book “Bridgescapes – a journey through Scotland’s bridge heritage”
The opening of the iconic Queensferry Crossing by H. M. The Queen on 4th September heralded another remarkable milestone for bridge engineering in Scotland. So, when better to celebrate the long and illustrious history of bridges within Scotland and the contribution Scottish engineers have made to bridges around the globe?
After much hard work and dedication, it is wonderful to see this book finally publish. Bruce said:
“I invite you all to join me on a personal journey through Scotland’s bridge heritage by subscribing to my new book, “Bridgescapes”, amply illustrated by Lewis Matheson, a young Scottish photographer, and a host of friends, supplemented with archive material. Woven throughout the text is my own personal and professional journey, capturing many of the friends, colleagues and acquaintances who’ve helped bridge the gap between challenge and opportunity and given the journey purpose.”
Scotland’s First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, has contributed the Foreword of the book.
Bruce has kindly offered a discount to all CIWEM members, meaning they can purchase a signed copy of the book for £18.10 in the UK and £24.95 outside.
