Big ideas: Leadership Roundtable Supports New Strategy

Our Member Bodies are key to the success of our collective work. We wanted to get their detailed input into our new strategy.

On Monday 17th November 2025, we welcomed leadership teams from across our 28 Member Bodies to dig deeper into the development of our new strategy – to be launched in 2026.

Our Member Bodies are key to the success of our professional registrations and how we operate as a whole. Therefore, with the development of our new strategy in full swing, we wanted to get their detailed input once again. This second roundtable of its kind follows an overarching ideas session in May. This time, we aimed to dig a little deeper.

Following the roundtable, Chair of SocEnv, Dougal Driver CEnv, said:

“It was so inspiring to host our Member Body partners to add depth to how the collective knowledge and influence of 650,000+ members can work strategically together, and through day-to-day actions, to drive positive environmental change. The plethora of ideas, along with a collective call to be dynamic and agile in our work, was fantastic to witness.”

The teams within our Member Bodies, alongside countless other stakeholders, are an extension of the SocEnv team. We work closely with them on a daily basis and at a strategic level, but plan to work closer still into this new strategy. We know collaboration is key – it’s in our DNA. That’s why these roundtable sessions make so much sense to us.

The overall tone throughout the day was positive, ambitious, and forward thinking. As a collective, we know SocEnv, our partners, and our registrants have a big role to play in meeting local and global environmental challenges. And the time is now.

Feedback on the day was overwhelmingly positive – from both the SocEnv facilitating team, and from the leadership delegates. Though overall success can only be demonstrated once the strategy starts to bring results – naturally.

Thank you to all those who participated in this Leadership Roundtable. We look forward to the next edition.
