In response to the news that the Met Office has issued a four-day amber warning for extreme heat in parts of England and Wales, and Thames Water’s announcement of a hosepipe ban in London and the Thames Valley:

Reducing water demand, including through hosepipe bans, is crucial to tackling the current water shortage. However, more needs to be done to invest in our water infrastructure to ensure we have sufficient water for households, businesses, and the environment. This is vital as hot dry periods become more frequent due to climate change.
