Event Summary
This conference will examine next steps for climate policy in the UK.
It will be an opportunity for stakeholders and policymakers to discuss climate negotiations and developments following COP28. This includes implications for the UK’s commitments to phase out fossil fuels and transition to a carbon neutral economy, and plans for adaptation and resilience as outlined in the Government’s Third National Adaptation Programme (NAP3).
Delegates will assess latest thinking on legal frameworks for climate action, priorities for key sectors and the UK’s role in international climate leadership. Additionally, they will discuss strategic plans for sustainable finance and green investment following the UK International Climate Finance Strategy.
Further sessions will examine the way forward for net zero ambitions following concerns that the UK is not on track to achieve targets, looking at skills requirements, and opportunities and challenges for key industries.
We are pleased to be able to include a keynote session with Chris Stark, Chief Executive Officer, Climate Change Committee.
