20 years of CEnv careers | Live webinar
On the week that marks the 20th anniversary of the very first Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) certificates being presented, we talk to three CEnvs about their careers, and what CEnv means to them, their work and the wider world. We’ll reflect on progress, as well as look to the future.
Two of our CEnv guests are from the first cohort of registrants in 2004, and one registered just last year (guest details below). Different perspectives, career paths, and areas of expertise make the CEnv community extremely valuable!

Erin Gill CEnv MEI
Erin Gill is global marketing director at Arup, a global consultancy with a focus on the built and natural environments. Her role involves leading Arup’s global marketing programmes and teams, and she has a professional qualification in marketing accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Erin chose to pursue chartership via the Chartered Environmentalist route, and she is a member of the Energy Institute.
Erin spent 20 years as an environment and energy journalist before moving into marketing and this has allowed her to transfer significant understanding and knowledge about climate change, pressures on ecological function, and other primary environmental issues, to her work as a marketer.
One of Erin’s areas of interest is how marketers can and should advance their skills development and understanding of drivers of societal change, with a particular focus on climate change, sustainability and digitisation.
