SocEnv in partnership with memcom
Each year the Society celebrates World Environment Day by sharing environmental good practice across sectors, inspiring action, connecting professionals and showcasing achievements with an expert led event. 2020 is no different, although the format has changed somewhat.
For the expert insight element, we are running a special World Environment Day webinar series on the global UN theme - biodiversity. Plus, we've teamed up with memcom to co-ordinate a sustainability day of talks, seminars and panel discussions, which forms one part of a week long interactive conference - memcom interactive.
From informative keynotes and deep-dive sessions to social engagement and lessons on leadership and inspiration. All for free. All from your home or office.
Celebrating World Environment Day, we’ll be looking towards sustainable and resilient ways of working which don’t harm the planet, and don’t cost the earth. We’ll be asking members to take simple pledges which will save them money and reduce waste, and imagining a happier, greener economy which is vital for our future growth. Themes discussed will include: greener ways of working; green engagement; how to influence your membership; ethical investments and sustainable business.
The Sustainability Day programme includes talks and discussions with:
- Prof. Will Pope HonFSE CEnv, Chair of the Society for the Environment
- David Symons CEnv, UK Director of Sustainability, WSP in the UK
- Sarah Poulter, Chief Executive, Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM)
- Emma Wilcox, Chief Executive, Society for the Environment
