This Westminster Energy, Environment & Transport Forum seminar will bring out latest thinking and options for policy on improving air quality in the UK with the Government preparing to consult on the Clean Air Strategy.
It also takes place with key parliamentary committees jointly calling for a new Clean Air Act, with recommendations on coordinated policy for planning, public transport and taxation, and putting public health and the environment at the centre of air quality - and in the context of the Government’s air quality plan.
Delegates will examine progress on a local and regional level - such as the expansion of clean air zones, increasing cycling lanes and initiatives in urban planning - as well as sectoral approaches to improve air quality.
Planned sessions will also discuss what more might be done to reduce levels of domestic pollution, as the Government considers responses to its consultation on the effects of solid fuel burning stoves in UK homes, and with reference to the upcoming London Environment Strategy.
