The UK Government has published its Clean Growth Strategy to ensure that the low carbon agenda is at the heart of its industrial planning and to provide policy certainty to investors.  The long-awaited strategy was published in October 2017. It aims to set out how the UK will:
  • stimulate significant economic growth while reducing carbon emissions;
  • reduce emissions throughout the 2020s;
  • meet its carbon budgets by 2032 (i.e. 57% reduction on 1990 levels); and
  • stay on track to reduce emissions by at least 80% of 1990 levels by 2050 to fulfil obligations under the Climate Change Act

The Clean Growth Strategy has been largely well received and maps out key focus areas and opportunities for new markets and significant greenhouse gas reductions. Our panel of expert speakers will assess the key aspects and propose areas for improvement
