Performance and Reporting Manager | Southern Water

We’re looking for a talented Water Performance and Reporting Manager to take ownership of key regulatory reporting functions, drive performance improvements, and help us meet our ambitious targets for leakage and water resource management.

Principal Water Resources Engineer (Mining) | WSP

• Deliver consulting services to internal and external clients in the areas of conceptual model development, hydraulics, engineering design, hydrology, mine water management, stormwater management, water balance assessment, dam break assessment, flood-modelling and flood risk assessment, water quality assessments and water conservation & demand management.
• Direct and review water resource aspects of a range of international mining and water resource projects, including environmental assessments, environmental permitting, and engineering design projects.
• Assist with developing projects and services which support climate change reporting, resilience and adaptation, including nature-based solutions.
• Project coordination, managing and participating actively in the development of budgets, schedules and plans for projects and proposals.
• Mentor junior staff within the Mine Water team to support their career development, technical excellence and commercial awareness.
• Project based travel and site work, working both in the UK, Ireland and internationally.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary project teams on local, regional and international consulting projects, so they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to client and WSP’s standards.
• Display a ‘safety first’ attitude in line with an interdependent health and safety culture, promoting positive health and safety, raising safety issues through the appropriate channels and adhering to WSP’s health and safety policy and procedures.”

Principal Ecologist | Arcadis

“As a Principal Ecologist, you will join our team of over 50 ecologists, who have more than 30 years of experience undertaking ecological surveys and assessments, as well as the provision of advice on soil, land use, hydrological and sustainable drainage issues, arboriculture, ecosystem service, natural capital assessment, biodiversity strategies and metrics and cultural heritage. During this time, we have undertaken over 2,000 projects covering a wide range of environmental disciplines throughout the UK, in Europe and beyond, for public and private clients.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Detailed knowledge of ecological principles, biodiversity metrics, relevant environmental and ecological impact assessment (EcIA) legislation, policy and guidance.
• In-depth knowledge of particular plant or animal groups and appropriate field survey skills.
• Proven track record in writing and delivering Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), writing and/or delivering Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs) and Ecology Chapters for Environmental Statements which have been successfully consented.
• Proven track record in writing project and/or plan-level Habitat Regulation Assessments (HRAs).
• Excellent commercial and project management skills for a range of project sizes.
• Proven experience of bid production for a range of projects and client interaction.
• Ability to line manage and potentially to lead a team.
• Hold survey and/or mitigation/conservation licenses.
• Leads in the design and compliance of biosecurity and health and safety protocols.
• Chartered Environmentalist/Ecologist (or demonstrably approaching Chartered Ecologist).
• Full member of CIEEM.
• The ability to travel, when necessary.”
