By supporting aspiring CEnv, REnvP and REnvTech registrants to reach a milestone in their careers and enhancing the support, value and opportunities available to current professional registrants, you will;
- enhance your brand
- increase trust and positioning
- help to win new work and satisfy current clients
- improve employee job satisfaction
- attract higher quality job applicants
- prove staff competence in legal proceedings
- showcase a commitment to environmental protection
- gain further opportunities to showcase environmental case studies and achievements
- increase the environmental standing of the sector as a whole.
Alongside the benefits of employing registered environmental professionals set out above, becoming an Employer Champion is a demonstration of your commitment to environmental standards, skills and knowledge. This accomplishment provides you with;
- a Society for the Environment support team to assist with professional registrations
- access to new networks including the Society’s Advisory Council and Employer Champion colleagues
- listing on the CEnv and/or REnvTech Employer Champion webpage(s)
- a showcase webpage and associated promotion
- a publicised presentation of your Employer Champion certificate
- opportunities to help shape our future standards
- use the Employer Champion logo(s) to showcase your commitment
- showcase your case studies and good practice across sectors.
The organisation must satisfactorily detail responses to the outlined requirements on the application form (below). This is designed to confirm that the organisation is in a position to be recognised as a true champion of environmental professional registrations and the professionals who either hold them or aspire to achieve them.
There are no costs involved in the application process or in the continued support. Special employer projects or promotional campaigns could incur costs, but they are at your discretion and not a requirement for the recognition programme.
Your organisation has the opportunity to become a CEnv and/or REnvTech Employer Champion – the choice depends on your ability to showcase how your organisation champions each registration.

If approved, we will arrange for the official certificate presentation to be carried out and continue to work with you to develop professional registrations within the organisation. If unsuccessful, the Society’s support team will provide guidance and assistance with the aim of achieving the relevant Employer Champion status.
Following a successful application, your organisation will be presented with a two-year certificate. After two years – and on a biennial, rolling basis – you will be required to submit a self-assessment in order to show that you still meet the requirements before a new two-year certificate is presented.
Put simply, the REnvP registration is too new! Only launched in January 2021, the Society is currently concentrating on the core registration element and ensuring all is well before creating the REnvP Employer Champion programme. Watch this space!
