Developing Sustainability Competencies to improve our Environmental Impact Management
Expro proudly serves as both a Corporate Partner and an Accredited Training Centre of Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP). One of my projects in 2025 job was the adoption of the ISEP Competency Framework to guide professional growth in alignment with our company’s evolving needs.
This Competency Assessment contributed to determining the training needs and helped in creating a powerful internal network, grounded in ISEP principles and standardized practices, with the aim of strengthening our global efforts to enhance environmental and sustainability initiatives across all Expro locations.
The impact of enhancing competencies of our team was important and immediate. Several sustainability initiatives were implemented with the support of the over 50 trained people in Foundations of Environmental and Sustainability Management during 2024 and 2025, such as the installation of solar energy systems at operational sites, as well as collaborative climate adaptation projects with universities and local communities—including mangrove restoration, river cleanups, and the creation of community gardens.
These collective efforts have already resulted in a reduction of over 30% in Expro’s Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions since our 2021 baseline and have contributed to the development of a robust climate transition plan in support of our net-zero objectives.
