The Society for the Environment is an active member of ENEP (the European Network of Environmental Professionals), representing registered environmental professionals on the European stage.
ENEP (previously known as EFAEP - The European Federation of Associations of Environmental Professionals) represents 22 European environmental organisations and over 45,000 individual professionals. ENEP is the leading environmental professional networking organisation across Europe. Over recent years the Society has added a voice for our CEnv and REnvTech registrants in Europe and worked to positively maintain European connections.
ENEP states that it “seeks to influence and implement the environmental agenda throughout Europe. It aims to do so by being respected for its adherence to sound, objective science rather than political lobbying but will be proactive where scientific or technical evidence supports it. Where possible it will also use its influence within the wider global context and beyond the European boundaries.” Further information can be found within the Vision and 2017-2018 Strategy Booklet.
Through this ever changing and challenging period of 'Brexit' negotiations, the Society believes that registered environmental professionals need to continue to work closely with European partners, as the environment has no borders. Plus, Europe as a whole needs knowledgeable, identifiable environmental professionals to carry out work that effects the environment that we live in.
