A CIEEM West Midlands Committee Event

Summary

A visit to a large scale natural flood risk management project to Shipston-upon-Stour, Warwickshire. This event, organised by the West Midlands Committee, will consist of an indoor presentation followed by site visits to see what can be achieved both in terms of flood risk management and habitat creation.

Settlements along the River Stour in Warwickshire suffer repeated flooding. Shipston Area Flood Action Group has developed a large scale natural flood risk management project as part of their approach to better managing their risks and its impacts. The event will consist of an initial meeting in New Clark House, West Street, Shipston-on-Stour, followed by a site visit to see projects in progress. We will look at the practicalities of undertaking the project, as well as the ecological and flood risk benefits.
